Giving Tuesday 2020 – Giving Back & Moving Forward

Posted on

At Oniracom, we strive to make a positive difference in the world by contributing to our global and local community.  Cause-driven marketing has been core to our company since its inception in 2001, when we hit the ground running with Jack Johnson’s initiatives to better the environment as part of his music career. Read more about our history of cause-driven marketing here. Industry-changing ideas like Jack Johnson’s Village Green, which introduced over 500 nonprofits to world-wide audiences, and Oniracom’s Solutions for Dreamers Festival which donated proceeds to local non-profit, Heal The Ocean, solidified our culture and commitment to our environment and community.

Making the world a better place through live events has been a cornerstone of what we do, and continues to be work we’re proud of.

In the wake of the pandemic, we’re supporting our community’s nonprofits by helping them adapt their fundraisers and events to COVID-safe livestreams and broadcasts.

Thus far, we’ve conducted successful livestream events for organizations including Community Environmental Council (CEC) ’s 50th anniversary of Earth Day , Artists for Amazonia (Amazon Watch, Environmental Media Association, Rainforest Foundation US, Amazon Aid Foundation, & Unify), Environmental Defense Center, Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network, Foundation for Santa Barbara City College (SBCC), Hospice of Santa Barbara, and Los Padres Forest Watch.

Through these virtual events, these organizations are able to connect with supporters, protect their team & supporters by following safety guidelines, and raise the funds necessary to continue vital work. Read more about our live streams here.

We also work with several nonprofits to adapt their existing work to virtual platforms. From youth organizations such as AHA, to organizations that work with senior citizens such as Friendship Center, NGOs of all audiences and sizes are benefiting from our support in their pivot during the new normal, and we’re proud to be of service to them.

As a certified “Green Business Innovator” we have a community service policy that incorporates volunteerism into employee duties and pay. We do this to acknowledge the interconnected nature of environmentalism and social equity, both of which are themes that we’ve seen brought to the forefront of public attention this year. The demand for volunteer work from nonprofits has not decreased with the pandemic, and accordingly many NGOs have implemented COVID-19 safety protocols to keep volunteers safe and to keep their efforts going.

Our Oniracom team recently opted for a socially distanced beach cleanup through Santa Barbara Channelkeeper’s Watershed Brigade program. Our team also volunteered together at Pacific Pride Foundation, and our executive team actively donates their professional business services to organizations including Kokua Hawaii Foundation, Community Environmental Council (CEC), Heal The Ocean, and The Grace Fisher Foundation.

On this “Giving Tuesday”, we challenge you to donate and support one of the organizations’s we proudly collaborate with, including:

African Women Rising ~ AHA! ~ Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara CountyCommunity Environmental Council (CEC) ~ Direct ReliefFoodbank of Santa Barbara County ~ Heal The Ocean ~ Jams Music Studio ~ Kokua Hawaii Foundation ~ Lobero Theatre FoundationNever Give Up ~ Santa Barbara Bowl FoundationSanta Barbara Channelkeeper Shelter Box ~ Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation ~ Unite To Light Foundation ~ Grace Fisher Foundation ~ Friendship Center
