We Love the Foodbank!

EVERY DAY WE ARE WORKING TO MOVE PEOPLE FROM HUNGER INTO HEALTH. NOT ONLY FEEDING BUT TEACHING HOW TO FISH.

Earlier this summer, the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County launched its monthlong campaign, End Summer Hunger. Its goal was to raise $50,000 for the Picnic in the Park program, which is “a country-wide program that provides children under 18 with free, nutritious meals when school is not in session, regardless of their parents’ income.” Surpassing its goal, the Foodbank reached an outstanding $75,000 for the Picnic in the Park program, able to provide over 23,000 lunches to children throughout the month of August.

Evidently, the Foodbank has had a huge impact on the lives of thousands. According to its website, it has garnered 9.7 million pounds of food distributed throughout the year, of which 4 million pounds are fresh produce. With 1 in 4 people needing help, the Foodbank has served over 10 cities and traveled over 300,000 miles to pick up and deliver food to those in need.

As one of our many impactful clients, the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County stresses the importance of fighting hunger in America. Here at Oniracom, we believe in the importance of helping others and working together to find solutions. Working with the Foodbank has been a rewarding experience, knowing that our support is among 300+ others – all fighting to end hunger one lunch at a time. What’s better than fighting hunger together?
