David Crosby at The Lobero Theatre

Posted on

Last Thursday, November 8th, David Crosby took the Lobero stage. Oniracom is proud to have sponsored this extremely unique opportunity to see what Crosby calls, “a dream team of musicians.”  The night featured material from Crosby’s new group, the Lighthouse Band, which includes three-time Grammy-winning Michael League, New York’s Becca Stevens and Canadian singer Michelle Willis.

The sold-out theater “felt like Crosby’s living room with the singer acknowledging friends in the crowd throughout the extended performance” reported Paul Mann of Noozhawk .

Downtown Santa Barbara’s  Lobero Theatre is the oldest continuously running performance hall in California. During the concert, Crosby recalled his first performing at the venue “The first time I sang in this theater I was 17,”. Crosby is no stranger to the Santa Barbara area. Prior to launching into his musical stardom, Crosby attended Montecito’s Crane Country Day School , Santa Barbara’s Laguna Blanca School,  Carpinterias Cate School, and  Santa Barbara City College.

During the performance corby shared stories from his youth and memorable moments of his musical career. the performance itself consisted of a two-part, 18-song set. The first set of the night was made up of songs from Here If You Listen, an album that the Lighthouse Band released last month. Crosby closed out the night by delivering some of the hits that landed him among the most popular musicians of the 1970s; most notably, “Guinevere” “Woodstock” and “Ohio.”

It may be several years since the Age of Aquarius, but David Crosby continues to deliver. A true master of his craft, David Crosby performing in such an intimate and historic venue made for a truly incredible event. We can’t wait for more nights like these at The Lobero.
