Site Rundown

Drowninthenow.com is a microsite we developed in order to promote Matisyahu and Crystal Method’s collaborative single, “Drown in the Now.”  Matisyahu’s vocals appear over Crystal Method’s instrumentation and beats on the slick single, and the management team needed a site that matched that, as well as provided an easy outlet for media, links, and social media integration.

Drowninthenow was one of the first sites to include Twitter integration directly on the page.  We decided to pull in all tweets with our hashtag: #drowninthenow.  During the single’s promotion, this resulted in a constant stream of fans discussing the single and telling their friends about it.  Fans could also click on “Join the Conversation” on the page, which would take them to Twitter and fill their status box with an editable message that said: “checking out the new single #drowninthenow by @crystalmethod and @matisyahu http://tr.im/jhfI”

Overall, buzz was generated around the track and sales were greatly increased because of traffic to the site and the viral spread throughout Twitter.

Client Testimonial

Oniracom has done a phenomenal job building Matisyahu’s web presence and taking it to the next level. They developed a complex but user friendly website and run it along with all social networks on a daily basis. We have seen huge increases in traffic and Matisyahu’s fans are more engaged than ever with our communities: Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, and the official Tour Archive. We needed a partner for the long haul in order to run an operation of this magnitude, and we found that in Oniracom.  They are on the cutting edge of technology, creative, strategic, and nimble with fast turnaround times.  We love Oniracom and plan to work with them on many projects.
